Rewards
Get paid to keep the directory honest
Nobody can track every small scrap hauler in the country. So we pay the people who can. Add a company, fix a wrong number, or tell the truth about a job — and take a cut for it.

What each contribution is worth
Submissions pay the most because coverage is the hardest thing to come by. Everything is credited after a moderator approves it — never on submission.
Approved new listingMust survive 30 days
100 pts$1
The biggest award, because coverage is the hardest thing to buy. Points are granted once moderation approves the listing, and mature after it has been live for 30 days without being removed.
Approved correction to an existing listing
25 pts$0.25
A changed phone number, new hours, a company that closed. Corrections keep the directory from rotting and are the fastest way to earn.
Review with 50+ charactersMax 5 rewarded reviews per month
20 pts$0.20
A star rating alone is free to leave but earns nothing — the reward is for writing something another person can act on. Capped monthly so the incentive can't turn into volume farming.
Adding a photo to a review
+10 pts$0.10
Stacks on the review award. Photos of the actual job are the strongest signal a review is real.
Verifying a phone number still worksMicro-task
5 pts$0.05
A 30-second task we surface on listings that haven't been checked in a while. Small award, but they add up and they take almost no effort.
A listing you submitted reaches 5 reviewsQuality bonus
50 pts$0.50
Paid automatically. It rewards submitting companies people actually use, rather than padding the directory with names.
To put that in context: submit five companies that stick and you're at 500 points ($5). Realistically this is beer money for most people and a steady side-earner for the handful who know their local scrap scene well. We'd rather say that plainly than imply otherwise.
How a point becomes a dollar
- Step 1
Contribute
Add a company, correct one that's wrong, review a hauler you used, or confirm a phone number still works.
- Step 2
A moderator approves it
Points are never granted on submission alone. If it's rejected you'll be told why, and you can fix it and resubmit.
- Step 3
Points mature
Approved points sit in pending for 30 days. If a listing turns out to be fraudulent, the points are clawed back.
- Step 4
Cash out
Once you have 2,500 redeemable points, request a payout by paypal or gift card.
The limits, up front
These aren't buried in the terms because you should know them before you spend an evening contributing, not after.
You can't review your own submissions
Reviewing a listing you added, a business you own, or one you work for is prohibited. We detect the obvious cases and moderators catch the rest.
Reviews are capped at five a month
Rewarded reviews, that is — you can leave as many as you like. The cap exists so the incentive can't turn into review farming.
Accounts must be 7 days old before a first payout
Along with rate limits per account and per IP. It's the cheapest defence against someone spinning up accounts to farm points.
Over $600 a year needs a W-9
US tax rules. If you earn $600+ in a calendar year we'll need a W-9 before paying out further. Anything over $50 in a month gets reviewed by a person first.
Reviews written for points are labeled. Every incentivized review carries a visible "Incentivized" tag on the listing page, as the FTC requires. Write what actually happened — a negative review earns exactly the same as a positive one, and we don't reject reviews for being unflattering.

Know a hauler we're missing?
That's the contribution worth the most, and the one we need most.
